Nursing is one of the best occupations for migration but the skills assessment and registration requirements are for many applicants difficult to meet. To work in Australia, nurses must be registered with APHRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).

Additionally, for most visas the skills assessment from ANMAC (Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council) is also required. Only Bachelor-level qualifications from the following countries are likely to be recognised by AHPRA:

Also, if you worked and were registered as nurse in UK, Ireland, USA, or Canada, APHRA will accept this as a sufficient qualification for your Australian registration. If your qualifications are not from one of these countries, under the current system you may need to undertake a bridging course in Australia.

Australia Bound Migration have been assisting the overseas nurses with skills assessments, enrolment to bridging courses and visa applications since 2003. The essential first step is getting a professional advice how to meet all the requirement and which pathway to PR visa is the best one for you. The online consultations start from only $55, but there is a FREE Asssessment in the button below.
