Subclass 485 Post Study Work Visa

The Post Study Work Visa is normally a two-year visa, in some cases even longer, which has unrestricted work rights. It is available to applicants who have completed two years of full-time study in Australia for the award of a Bachelor degree or higher. The degree can be in any field – it is not restricted to any occupations list. This visa helps to meet the requirements for a permanent visa. This could be by completing Australian work experience so to meet the skills assessment requirements or to get extra points for Australian work experience or by using the time to achieve higher English scores.

Subclass 485 Skilled Graduate

This is an two years temporary visa for overseas students who have obtained an Australian trade or diploma level qualification while studying in Australia after at least 2 years study. The qualification must lead to an occupation listed on MLTSSL. This is not a points tested visa. It allows recent graduates to remain in Australia for 24 months. The time can be used to gain the necessary skills, work experience, or improve English to be able to apply for permanent visa or another appropriate visa later on.
